Se acerca Now and Then, balada inédita de Los Beatles

Paul McCartney y Ringo Starr preparan el lanzamiento de una canción inédita con las voces de los cuatro miembros del cuarteto de Liverpool, incluidos los fallecidos John Lennon y George Harrison.

Según informa hoy domingo 29 de abril el Sunday Express, la canción se titula Now and Then (Ahora y entonces) y utiliza fragmentos de una balada de Lennon que donó su viuda, Yoko Ono, a McCartney en 1994, para que formara parte de la antología del grupo.

La grabación constará de la participación de Ringo Starr en batería mientras se recurra a alguna grabación existente en el archivo musical de la formación.

Según declaró en 1995 el productor Jeff Lynne, los Beatles dedicaron sólo una tarde a Now and Then.

"Era una balada en La menor, una canción muy dulce. Me gustaba mucho. Ojalá la hubiéramos terminado", explicó Lynne entonces.

La elaboración se estancó por la negativa de Harrison. Ahora que George falleció, Paul McCartney se ha puesto de nuevo manos a la obra y terminará la canción.

"George Harrison no quiso arreglarla en su día porque no se trataba sólo de introducir un texto, sino de añadir un poco de bajo y batería", afirma una fuente sin identificar al diario británico.
